Abstract:
Globalization drives the ongoing process of cross-market integration that prompts frequent and inevitable interactions between cultures. Cross-cultural communication, negotiation, and adaptation are everywhere in today’s business world. The management of cross-cultural negotiation and adaptation thus to a large extant account for the performance and happiness of individuals, groups, organizations, and even nations amid the mixed cultural context. This symposium addresses this issue by presenting five papers to explore the critical role of cross-cultural communication, negotiation, and adaptation at the individual, team, and organizational levels. Following the presentations, Chao Chen, an influential scholar in this field, will lead discussions on both theoretical and practical implications. The symposium will conclude with interactive group discussions on directions for future research.
