Abstract: |
Technology entrepreneurship (TE) has been characterized as the precursor of “creative destruction” and the initiators of “discontinuous innovation”. In recent years, hundred schools of thought had been emerged in the TE research. However, the new knowledge of TE research was fragmented due to the widely distributed trait itself. Most importantly, it lacks a systematic discussion of what components constitute TE research and how the links between them. To meet the gap, we aim to consolidate the state of academic research on TE. We examined 241 articles published in 30 top ranked journals over the 47 years. Based on the analysis, we synthesize various research perspectives into a systematic framework, and explain the nexus among each part within the framework. Finally, we proposed some suggestions for future research in this field. |
