Abstract: |
| Cross sector partnership between private and public actors have been major forms of organizations of firms to tackle complex social issues. Firms are motivated to form partnership with NGOs for social and economic benefits. From the legitimacy perspective, we take into account both the need and opportunity of cross sector partnership formation. We propose an inverted U-shaped relationship between a firm’s environmental damaging and propensity of forming partnership with NGOs. We also examine how this relationship is contingent on political tie. Empirical analysis of private firms in China provide supports for out hypothesis. |
