Abstract: |
We propose a model based on identification generalization (from relational identification to group identification) to explain how and when supervisor inclusiveness (openness, accessibility, and availability) can impact subordinates’ performance. Using longitudinal, multisource data from 324 assembly line workers, we found supervisor inclusiveness had indirect effects on subordinates’ team role performance and turnover via perceived group insider status. Further, moderated analysis revealed generation cohort moderated inclusive leadership's effect on perceived insider status in team, that supervisor inclusiveness had stronger influence on perceived insider status for the post-reform generation than the reform generation. |
