Abstract: |
On the basis of Lord, Dinh, and Hoffman’s work that may be the first attempt of applying and developing quantum approach in the field of organizational change and development, the paper further imports essential concerns of the quantum theory, uncertainty, interference, and the rule of probabilities, to enrich this approach in managing planned changes. The paper then develops the central dynamics, constraints, proposed in the quantum approach of change by distinguishing system constraints versus critical constraints on the way to planned changes. A case study based on action research of a theme park in China is used to illustrate the theoretical part of the paper. The quantum approach to changes, especially the constraints’ effects, has broad implications for practice. |
