Abstract: |
With the increasingly importance role of interfirm cooperation in the field of enterprise innovation, many enterprises begin to integrate into a diversified partnership, thus forming an alliance portfolio. In the alliance portfolio, the focus enterprise is easy to acquire and integrate the existing knowledge from the alliance partners, especially the complementary knowledge base of the alliance partners. However, it is difficult for the alliance partners to absorb and integrate the existing knowledge from the complementary knowledge base, because of the corporate paradox and the path dependence nature of "ability trap" and "core rigidity". In addition, the existing literature lacks a clear study of the relationship between complementary knowledge and breakthrough technological innovation, especially the partnership under the alliance portfolio. Therefore, this paper examines the relationship between alliance portfolio knowledge complementarity and breakthrough technological innovation, and examines the moderating effects of knowledge search and process dependence on them. The results showed that the alliance partner knowledge complementarity is conducive to enhancing the breakthrough technological innovation ability of enterprises; knowledge search and process dependent on alliance partner knowledge complementary and breakthrough technological innovation has a significant positive moderating effect. |
