Abstract: |
Top executives of Chinese companies are widely believed to be the most influential strategic decision makers, and their impacts on corporate strategy and performance are increasing during China’s continuous transformation. In this symposium, we seek to facilitate scholarly discussions about key issues related to strategic leadership in China’s transforming environment. We have invited several prominent scholars to share their most recent work and thinking about strategic leadership in China with participants of this symposium. The five presentations included in this symposium will provide a comprehensive and coherent view of how Chinese strategic leadership has evolved over time and how strategic leaders may manage strategic momentum, resource orchestration, innovation, and competitive dynamics in a changing and competitive environment. These presentations are highly synergistic and will cover key issues that strategic leaders need to consider in a transforming environment. They also offer a diverse range of theoretical perspectives, from theories about strategic momentum to theories about leadership, values, and personalities. The panelists will also discuss the future direction of this area of research. In addition, we have planned time for the panelists to interact with the audience to maximize the benefits for participants. We are confident that the diverse perspectives reflected in the presentations and the focus on strategic leadership in a changing environment together with a distinguished panel of presenters will make this symposium an interesting and very beneficial event for IACMR members. |
