Abstract:
This meta-analytic study mainly explores country resource factors and institution commonly to moderate I-P relationship between developing and developed countries with the distinction of basic and advanced factor-driven and formal and informal institution-driven economies based on the control of firm, industry and country-level heterogeneity, estimation method heterogeneity, the measurements of firm internationalization and performance heterogeneity and data heterogeneity in previous relevant empirical studies. This meta-analytic study includes the data of 345 original journals that are across 34 countries and two regions (Hong Kong and Taiwan) between 2000 and 2017 and mainly applies quantile method, cluster analysis, Bootstrap and PCA to explore this topic. This study fills the gap of the journal by Marano, etc. (2016): firstly, this study introduces resource and institution-based views to explore country resource factors and institution that commonly moderate I-P relationship; secondly, this study distinguishes between developing and developed countries with the identification of basic and advanced factor-drive and formal and informal institution-driven economies. Therefore, this study can give some suggestions for future empirical studies and have practical application for firm strategy and government policy both in developing and developed countries based on the consideration of country’s basic and advanced resource factors and formal and informal institutions.
